In Isaiah, chapter fifty-five, verse eleven, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of thy mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” The power and effect of God’s Word are never canceled or rendered void; His Word will bring either spiritual life to those who receive it or just condemnation to those who reject it. “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart,” as in Hebrews four, verse twelve.
How should converts and believers react to the Word of God in all its different forms? All should receive it eagerly, which is the sign of faith beginning. To seek to understand God’s Word, to praise Him for sending it, love it, and let it be our joy and delight. Remember when a believer does so, as in Psalm thirty-seven, verse one, “Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Saints of God must accept what the Word of God says, hide it deep within our hearts, trust in it, and put our hopes in its promises, and obey what it commands.
Believers who serve the Lord may receive a Word through God’s servants. However, for those who have a strong relationship with the Lord and a prayer life will know if it is truly from God or not. On the other hand, there are those godly people who get confirmation from God, but fail to hold on due to anxiety or deception from the enemy.
