In Isaiah, chapter thirty-four, verses one through seven, these verses depict the terrible judgment to fall on all nations at the end of time. They emphasize God’s wrath against all sin and rebellion, as in verses two to three; this judgment will involve disturbances in the heavens, as in verse four, “And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.” Other scriptures concerning disturbances in the heavens include Matthew twenty-four, verse twenty-nine, and Revelation six, verses thirteen through fourteen, and are linked with Christ’s return to set up His kingdom on earth, as in Revelation chapters nineteen and twenty.
At this present time, nations may ridicule and reject God’s way, but at a time known only to God, great tribulation and judgment will shake the nations.
Satan and demons will gather together many nations under the direction of the antichrist to make war against God, His armies and His people, and to destroy God’s chosen nation. Although the focal point will be in the land of the Holy One, Christ will return and supernaturally intervene to destroy the antichrist and his armies, and all who disobey the gospel. God will also send destruction and earthquakes upon the whole world at this time.
Is this a coincidence? Today we see what is happening now, and yet these theme verses confirm what we are experiencing in society. Two forces collide: one controlled by the devil and his cohorts, while the other is by God. There are only two types of people that are in the world today: godly people and the ungodly. Whom they serve, they will do.
