In Proverbs, chapter twenty-nine, verse one, “He that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.” Those who repeatedly reject the clear reproof and conviction of the Holy Spirit, as in John sixteen, verses eight to eleven, and despise His chastening and correction, such as in Hebrews twelve, verses five through eleven, and verse twenty-five, run the risk of hardening their hearts to the point of being cut off from God’s mercy and of being judged by Him. No one can continue in sin and reject God’s grace, compassion, and love without eventually suffering irreparably for it.
Unbelievers and the ungodly who have had the opportunity to hear the gospel through television, radio, online, and other social media outlets, or from a witness by a Christian or believer, the message of Jesus Christ, and consistently disregard it and elect to live in sin, will eventually be lost. The unbelievers are people who have heard the word and have an understanding of the message given to them, whether through a sermon provided by a servant of God, such as a pastor or minister, or even a simple conversation with a stranger, relative, or friend. However, they still disapprove and object to the gospel, and do it continually, which may put themselves in danger of jeopardizing their opportunity. Those who reject God and live in sin are spiritually blinded, as in Second Corinthians four, verse four. “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
The ungodly do not see their way. All they see around them is an environment, and they do not suspect anything wrong with their life.
