In Isaiah, chapter sixty-six, verses twenty-two through twenty-four, “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain. And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD. And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.”
At the end of history (which is at the end of the Messianic kingdom), God will create a new heaven and a new earth, as in Revelation twenty-one, verse one. The final goal and Biblical expectation of the redeemed is a new, transformed, and redeemed world where Christ lives with His people and righteousness dwells in holy perfection.
To erase all traces of sin, there will be destruction. Heaven and earth will be shaken, and the new earth will become the dwelling place of both humans and God. All the redeemed will possess bodies like Christ’s resurrection body, one that is real, visible, and tangible, but incorruptible and immortal.
All believers will be with the Lord forever, as in Revelation twenty-one to twenty-two. However, all those who rebelled against Him and His Word will spend eternity in hell, as in Isaiah fifty, verse eleven, Isaiah fifty-seven, verse twenty-one, Mark nine, verse forty-five, Mark fourteen, verse eleven, respectively.
Hell refers to a place of eternal torment reserved for the ungodly. The Bible teaches that one’s existence does not end at death but continues forever, either in the presence of God or in a place of punishment.
