How can a man understand His own way

In Proverbs, chapter twenty, verse twenty-four, “Man’s goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?” While this verse speaks of our need for guidance, it also points to God’s providence. God sometimes directs the righteous along a path that makes it difficult for them to understand what is happening. We may be unable to see good in some circumstances, but the Bible encourages us to believe that God is nevertheless working behind the scenes for our good. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way,” as in Psalm thirty-seven, verse twenty-three.

For believers, there are things that we experience in life that may not make any sense to us. However, Romans eight, verse twenty-eight, declares, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” This passage greatly encourages the children of God when we must endure suffering in this life. God will bring good out of all affliction, trials, persecution, and suffering; the good that God works is conforming us to the image of Christ.

How can a man understand His own way is the theme title. The truth is, no one knows how life will turn out because we are living it before Him. Neither unbelievers nor believers understand what the day may bring. However, the difference is that the followers of Christ and those who have a close relationship with the Lord will follow according to His Word in obedience. On the other hand, the unbelievers and those who do not serve God will live their way, hoping things turn out right according to their plan. A believer trusts and depends upon God, who leads the way.
