They that hate me love death

In Proverbs, chapter eight, verse thirty-six, wisdom is often personified in the book of Proverbs. People who despise God’s wisdom end up tragically harming themselves and, even if unintentionally, “loving” death. Today, we see this in acts of suicide and with abortion and euthanasia. The world sings about death and violence and flirts with mortality through drugs. Sin has within itself the seeds of death.

Behind all this is Satan, who comes like a thief to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus Christ, the embodiment of God and wisdom, comes to give us life and give it abundantly, as in John ten, verse ten. Righteousness delivers us from death, as in Proverbs ten, verse two, “Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.”

The theme title, They That Hate Me Love Death,  is under “The Call of Wisdom” and expresses that those who do not love or hear God’s Word reject Him and choose or are under pressure to live the way of the world. However, the theme verse, “But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” The beginning of the theme verse relates to the unbelievers, the evildoers, and everyone who opposes God who does not care if they sin. All of us are born into this world and birthed in sin through Adam and Eve, coming from different backgrounds that uphold godly or ungodly ways of life. If a person wants to know the truth and calls out to God sincerely, He will answer and direct such a one to the pathway of righteousness. “And ye shall seek me, and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart,” as in Jeremiah twenty-nine, verse thirteen. Those who care about their future destiny will find Him.
