Your calamity

In Proverbs chapter one, verse twenty-six, the book emphasizes that God has given absolute standards of right and wrong in His Word. Disregarding them will bring tragic results in our lives. One of the greatest truths we can learn in our youth is that we will reap what we sow, as in Galatians six, verses seven through nine. The eventual price young people pay for sin includes anguish, suffering, and even disaster, as in verse twenty-seven, “When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.”

The theme verse under the Result of Rejecting Wisdom section expresses how life can change if the children are around negative influences that lead to wrongdoing instead of righteousness, which is doing right. “Be not deceived; God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.”

Today, it’s unfortunate that most young people experience deception by older folks for personal gain. However, there are some necessary steps that parents or relatives can take that may help prevent a potential danger from embracing these people who plan to do evil. The first thing from a parental point of view is to communicate with our kids. Communication is the enemy’s tool through his people to get involved in the children’s lives. And that is what parents will need to do with their kids to avoid such tragedies. Love is the next and the most important for them because God is love, and so shall we.
