In Psalms, chapters one hundred and forty-six through one hundred and fifty are about the entitled, “Praise ye the Lord.” These psalms begin and end this honoring expression to the Almighty One, bringing the book of Psalms to a fitting climax. Every worship service should include praise to God.
Psalm Chapter One forty-six, under An Exhortation to Trust God section, begins and ends with verse one, “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.” Then, the final verse ten, “The LORD shall reign forever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.
Psalm Chapter One forty-seven, under The Might and Grace of the Lord section, starts verse one like this, “Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.” After that, the chapter finishes with verse twenty, “He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.”
Psalm Chapter One forty-eight, under Nature’s praise of the Lord, launches with the opening verse one, “Praise ye the LORD. Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.” Then closes in verse fourteen, “He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD.”
Psalm Chapter One forty-nine, under the Lord’s Love of Israel section, opens with verse one, “Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.” Then in verse nine, “To execute upon them the judgment written: this honor have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.”
Psalm, Chapter One fifty, under the Let Everything Praise the Lord section, begins with verse one, “Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power.” Finally, in verse six, “Let everything that hath breath praise the LORD. Praise ye the LORD.”
