Lord remember David

In Psalms, chapter one hundred and thirty-two, verses one through eighteen, begins this psalm to petition God to bless David’s sons as they rule Israel. The blessing will become a reality only when God abides in His temple and among His people.

The theme chapter under The Promise to David and Zion section reflects Second Samuel seven, verses eight through twenty-nine. Then Nathan receives word from the Lord that night, as in verse four through the beginning of five, “And it came to pass that night, that the word of the LORD came unto Nathan, saying, Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the LORD.” He further details Nathan to tell David where he took him from to where he is now, from a Shepherd of the sheep to the Shepherd of His people. God continues to tell Nathan of His servant David that He was with him throughout his journeys, fighting against the enemies to receive victory over them receiving recognition.

The Lord remembered David in the middle of First Samuel thirteen, verse fourteen. “The LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people,” which signifies that God chose David for his willingness to do God’s will despite his moral failures. Many examples of David support why he was a man after God’s heart. The time when Saul was after him in the wilderness of Engedi, and David’s men located him sleeping, and they asked permission to kill him. When David saw Saul as he slept, his response was: “And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD’S anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
