Thou are near oh Lord

In Psalms, chapter one hundred and nineteen, verse hundred and fifty-one, the psalmist experiences God’s nearness in times of trouble because he loves the Lord and is devoted to meditating on His Word, as in verses one hundred and forty-eight, and verses one hundred and fifty-three through one hundred and sixty, respectively. The Lord is near to all who love Him and His Word. If you have trouble, take the Bible and let God’s Spirit and Word revive your relationship with Him.

The theme verse “Thou art near, O LORD; and all thy commandments are truth” under the A Cry for Salvation section expresses the initial and developing relationship with Jesus Christ upon accepting Him. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new,” as in Second Corinthians five, verse seventeen. New converts and growing believers must realize how close God is to His people who serve Him. When someone accepts salvation, they receive Jesus Christ into their heart. The way of living before receiving the Son of God is different because now He is inside the recipient.

Although converts accept Jesus Christ, they must develop their relationship with Him to keep it going strong because the devil looks to disrupt this newfound union. Like any relationship, it will take time and effort to grow and become solid to the point it is unbreakable where nothing can penetrate, not anything or anyone. In First Peter five, verse eight, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.” However, many converts and believers get deceived by the enemy causing them to have a weak connection with God. The goal is to guard the heart from ungodliness.
