In Psalms, chapter forty-six, verse four, God’s river is a continual flow of His grace, glory, and power amid His faithful people, as in verse eleven, Isaiah eight, verse six, Ezekiel forty-seven, verse one, Revelation three, verse twelve, and chapter twenty-two, verse one, respectively. This pure life-giving river flows from God the Father, as in Jeremiah two, verse thirteen, and God the Son, as in Zechariah thirteen, verse one, and John four, verse fourteen, and God the Holy Spirit, as in John seven, verses thirty-eight through thirty-nine; it flows from the throne of God and constantly refreshes believers, both those on earth, as in John four, verses thirteen to fourteen, and those in heaven, as in Revelation twenty-two, verse one. The most significant blessing of this river is that it brings God into the midst of His people, as in verse five. “The Lord of Hosts is with us,” as in verses seven and eleven.
The title There is a River under The Presence of God in the Calamity section means there is a way out of the trouble with God from verses one through three of Psalms forty-six. There is no need to fear because the Lord is the shelter in times of storm. The Almighty God can make a way when there seems to be no way out. God is like the thirst quencher when the inside of our throat feels dry, and the water we drink starts rushing in and soothing our inside, refreshing us.
Therefore, when trouble seems to come our way, believers should stop, relax, and pray for God to intervene in this problem. Begin by asking Him to take control of this situation and guide me. “In all thy ways acknowledge him, and He shall direct thy paths,” from Proverbs three, verse six.
