In Exodus chapter fourteen, verse twenty-eight, the waters returned and covered the chariots, the riders, and all the host of Pharoah. The Red Sea has a length of one thousand three hundred and fifty miles and an extreme width of two hundred and five miles. Therefore it would be quite a challenge for someone to swim to shore with so much distance to cover. When the waters returned to normal, it was sufficiently deep to cover the Egyptian chariots and drown their army. The Lord fought for Israel and defeated the Egyptians, just as He had earlier fought against and defeated the gods of Egypt.
The forming of the two great walls of water during the time of Israel crossing the Red Sea left a path several miles wide. The Israelites nor the Egyptians could not understand what happened to the waters during the time Israel crossed and the Egyptians’ pursuit. The waters returned when all the Israelites crossed over the Red Sea, and the Egyptians were at the point of no return. There was no chance for them to plan their escape. The waters flushed out all that was evil and opposed God.
Today, in our society, some believers serve God with all their hearts, soul, and mind. However, the enemy will attempt to use his cohorts on earth to diffuse the people of God from doing so. There will be opportunities to execute the will of God in our lives but only through obedience and simultaneously living a sin-free life. He shall enable us to accomplish the task. When God sees us desiring these things, He will send the waters to flush out people from our lives that try to get in the way. Therefore, believers need not fear but continue to trust God to lead our path.
