The testimonies

In Psalms, chapter one hundred and nineteen, verse two, God’s testimonies represent covenant terms or requirements in His will. What are these things that God is talking about? Testimonies are the truth or proof of what He has done among His people. The first example is in the Old Testament of Deuteronomy four, verse forty-five, where Moses, their leader and servant of God, commands obedience from the people. Why would he ask for that from the Israelites on behalf of God?
The theme verse, “Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart,” describes those who are grateful for what God has done in their lives and live for Him according to His Word. Moses made an effort to inform the Israelites because God did what no other person could physically do, which was to free them from the bondage of Pharaoh and the Egyptians. Moses initially agreed to help do God’s will and, by obedience, witnessed what God did in His sight among the people of Egypt. The Israelites were in bondage.
Moses is a living example of the testimonies of God. The servant of God lived in Egypt for forty years, was born in Egypt, and was in a basket in the Nile. In Exodus chapter seven, verse seven, Moses was eighty when he first appeared before Pharaoh after God had called him to lead Israel out of Egypt. Israel spent forty years in the wilderness before entering Canaan, as in Numbers fourteen, verses thirty-three through thirty-four. In Deuteronomy chapter thirty-four, verse seven. Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died.
In the latter part of Psalms nineteen, verse seven, “the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.” Moses was a living testimony of God’s grace.
