The Son of man

In Psalms, chapter eight, verses four through six, the New Testament quotes these verses and applies them to Jesus, as in Hebrews two, verses six to eight, and Ephesians one, verses nineteen to twenty-two. It is only in Him that these truths will reach perfection. He is the One who, as a representative of the human race, will be given total dominion over all creation, as in Psalms eight, verses six through eight, and Philippians two, verse ten.

The theme verses under the God’s Glory and Man’s Honor section are similar to Hebrews two, verses five through eight under the Christ the High Priest section in the New Testament. Although some would interpret “him” as representative of the human race, it seems more likely to be a reference to Jesus. In this fallen world where Satan, sin, and death are present realities, we do not see everything in subjection to Christ. Yet Jesus is already crowned with glory and honor in heaven, as in Hebrews two, verse nine, all the evil powers in the world are doomed to defeat and judgment. His second coming will consummate all accomplished at the cross, as in Romans eight, verses eighteen through twenty-seven, Colossians two, verse fifteen, and Second Thessalonians one, verses five to ten.

The Son of man is Jesus Christ, for all who accept Him become Christians or believers because it takes someone who believes to live according to the Word of God to receive the fulfillment of what the scriptures say for those who are doers of it. God made humans in His image, as in Genesis one, verse twenty-six, and then the fall of man occurs in Genesis three. However, the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, redeemed the human race, who bore our sins on the cross, to have the opportunity to receive salvation through Himin John three, verse sixteen.
