The remnant of Israel

In Isaiah, chapter ten, verse twenty, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.” Isaiah assures the faithful believers that after God had judged Israel, a godly remnant that trusts in the Lord would be preserved and restored. This remnant would be the true Israel, as in Romans nine, verse six, “Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel.”
God’s plan for salvation for the world will always be carried out by the remnant who truly believe and obey His Word, not by those who merely profess to believe, as in chapter six, verse thirteen. “But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.” There will remain a faithful remnant: disciples who follow the will of the Lord.
“Therefore, it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham who is the father of us all,” as in Romans nine, verse sixteen. “Esaias also crieth concerning Israel, Though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant shall be saved,” as in Romans nine, verse twenty-seven. The faithful remnant that overcometh shall be clothed.
