In Nehemiah, chapter eight, verse three, the revival was initiated by a sincere return to God’s Word and a diligent effort to understand its meaning, as in verse eight. For seven days, six hours each day, Ezra read from the book of the law, as in verses three and eighteen. One of the foremost evidences of true revival among God’s people is a deep hunger to hear and read God’s Word.
The Word of God, first of all, is a love letter from the Father to His people. However, for those who do not serve Him or desire not to, it would be words with parables and stories that may not mean or resonate. However, the parables and various letters from the prophets, who are servants of God through the Holy Spirit, will later bring revelation to the believers as they draw closer to the Lord and continue to serve.
In John one, verses one through five, clearly state the meaning of the Word of God. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” Therefore, to know God and His Word, you have to be in a relationship with Him for it to come together and receive the understanding by the Holy Spirit.
On the other hand, leaders must be involved in a close relationship with God, follow the law in obedience, and have the Holy Spirit working through them to present the Word of God for it to manifest and help the believers to grow within the congregation. Otherwise, if the leader is not abiding by that, it will not happen. For a believer to know this will be based on their relationship with God because He knows who are His and is not fooled by anyone. The Holy Bible is a guide that will map our way to heaven when our journey in life is over.
Any believer who desires to serve God in spirit and truth, He will guide you through life to find the right church where the Word of God is ministered. As we continue to draw close to the Holy One in prayer and by His Word, He will guide and protect us as long as we are faithful to Him.
