In Proverbs, chapter eighteen, verses ten through eleven, “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The rich man’s wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit.” The name of the Lord represents His person, authority, and character, as in Exodus three, verses fourteen to fifteen, and Acts four, verse twelve. However, the misguided rich believe money is their source during the storms of life.
The theme title, “The name of the Lord,” represents the godly who live for God and have received salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. The believer who is devoted to the Lord and has a personal relationship with Him through Jesus Christ shall be protected by the Lord as they walk the straight and narrow pathway that leads to eternal life. As the people of God live daily, pray, and read His Word, they will encounter various obstacles and challenges that they need to overcome. John fourteen, verse fourteen, declares, “If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” The people of God should cry out to the Lord in prayer when they face difficult times or circumstances to give them the strength to get through it victoriously.
On the other hand, the rich who depend on their wealth and do not acknowledge God will believe their money will be their safety net to overcome difficulties and life challenges. However, only to discover that it does not help in everything. Wealthy people suffer from all kinds of mental issues that they do not understand. They will use their wealth to attempt to alleviate the matter by buying prescriptions, visiting the doctor, but to no avail. The peace of God that passeth all understanding will help overcome.
