The Lord is thy keeper

In Psalms, chapter one hundred and twenty-one, verse five, the faithful child of God is always under the Lord’s protection, defense, and watchful care. The beginning of verse one of First Peter five states, “Who are kept by the power of God through faith. The scripture presents three truths concerning the security of believers since many faithful were experiencing intense persecution. Believers are “kept,” which is protected by the power of God against Satan’s sinister forces of evil that seek to destroy lives and salvation in Christ, as in Second Timothy four, verse eighteen, verses one and twenty-four of Jude, and Romans eight, verses thirty-one through thirty-nine. respectively.
The essential condition required for God’s protection is faith. God’s keeping by His grace does not work arbitrarily, for only “through faith” are believers protected by the power of God, just as only “through faith” are believers receive protection by the power of God, just as only “through faith” are believers saved, as in Ephesians two, verse eight. Therefore, living faith in Christ as Lord and Savior is our present responsibility in maintaining God’s continued protection, as in First Peter one, verse nine, John fifteen, verses four and six, Colossians one, verse twenty-three, Second Timothy three, verses fourteen through fifteen, chapter four, verse seven, and Revelation three, verses eight and ten, accordingly.
The ultimate goal of God’s protection through the believer’s faith is “salvation.” Here, salvation refers to the future dimension of salvation, as in Romans one, verse sixteen, obtaining an inheritance in heaven, as in First Peter one, verse four, and “the salvation for your souls,” as in First Peter one, verse nine. Jesus emphasized this truth when He said, “The very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not, therefore,” as in Matthew ten, verses thirty through thirty-one.
