In Psalms, chapter one hundred and nineteen, verse one, the law represents God’s entire instruction to His people; it can also refer to the Pentateuch, the first five Old Testament books, or the Old Testament.
The law in any society is vital because there will be consequences if a person fails to follow it. Whether a person abides by the law determines the difference between passing or failing and access or denial. The law is good because it prevents individuals from hurting people and vandalizing the environment. On the other hand, for believers in Christ, obeying the law is a priority and being an example to others in society.
People today follow the law and achieve family inheritance and blessings from them and God. However, for believers who know and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, there is more to this life than following and inheriting something. The personal relationship with God is the most significant to a believer because having that will give access to all things. Joseph followed the law of God, and he went through hardship but did not waiver from God, nor did his godly ways. Despite the obstacles, Joseph, through God, gained favor from the King of Egypt.
Pharaoh said to Joseph in Genesis forty-five, verse twenty, “Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours. “God blessed Joseph through Pharaoh, and he inherited favor for himself and his entire family. Following the law is good, and obeying the Word of God and having that close bond will enable God’s people to follow the law. “Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.”
