The branch of the Lord

In Isaiah, chapter four, verse two, “In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.” The theme title is for the Messiah, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He will come forth as a branch from the root of David, as in chapter eleven, verse one, chapter fifty-three, verse two, Jeremiah twenty-three, verse five, Jeremiah thirty-three, verse fifteen, Zechariah three, verse eight, Zechariah six, verse twelve, Romans fifteen, verse twelve, Revelation five, verse five, and Revelation twenty-two, verse sixteen, respectively.
The theme verse under the Blessings of the Messiah section, and the rest of this theme chapter, refers to a time when Christ will rule over His faithful remnant in Jerusalem, as in verse four, and care for them with great concern, as in Isaiah thirty-eight, verses five through eight, verses fifteen to seventeen, and Isaiah sixty-five, verse eighteen, accordingly.
The “branch” is likely a root word, which the name Nazareth is derived. Jesus was called a Nazarene, which means ‘a man from Nazareth’ or ‘a man from the branch.’ He would be a righteous branch and would do what is just and right. The believing remnant, as in Philippians three, verse nine, “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”
The branch of the Lord and the stems thereof are the saints of God, which eventually will produce fruit. However, the water is the Word of God, and the sunlight is the prayer and their relationship that grows together. Each day, we must continue to grow together.
