Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. Psalms 1:1
The blessed believer is the one who is God-fearing. The person with righteous character, genuine love for others, obedience to God’s Word, and separation from fellowship with the world. The lives of those who delight themselves in these areas draw from God and prospers.
The reason many proclaimed people fall short of being blessed by God is that there is no passion. The majority of churchgoers may attempt to honor the commandments, but there is a motive. Most cases are for selfish gain reasons. However, God sees right through the heart of these people. They do not realize God made humans and knows each way and means. That is why some church people eventually give up and resort to other methods to receive blessing and declare it is from God.
The first requirement to receive a blessing from God is doing what is right faithfully. God sees the hearts of everyone. If a person is thinking along the lines of doing this to get that from God, well, He will recognize it because He knows our thoughts and our way of thinking at the moment. Better off doing right and not preplanning our ideas to get something from God.
The next necessity is love for others. God is love, and this should be our daily approach in all that we do toward others. No love in our hearts will be doing things for the wrong reasons. Where there is no love, the presence of God will not be involved or there at all, and eventually, most people will sense that too.
Submissiveness to God’s Word is where most people of God fail. To follow the Word of God exactly as it states by doing what it says entirely and not halfway.
The final requirement is the most difficult challenge for a human being is to be disconnected from society. It does not mean not have any contact with people but following the carnal ways. After all, we are born in physical nature, and that is what we come to know first. The battle for the people of God is to transition from that carnal state to live daily in a godly way. To be faithful to God in such a manner that He will approve of our heart and see that it is towards Him.
The believer must follow the attributes mentioned at the beginning to experience the blessings of God. There are no shortcuts, no doing it our way, no human philosophy, no making deals either. God’s way, as the Word, indicates to obtain His blessings.
