In Psalms, chapter one hundred and nineteen, verse one hundred and thirty-six, those who love God’s Word will experience grief and sorrow, even anger, as in verse fifty-three, when they see God’s laws rejected and scorned by the ungodly. These feelings will undoubtedly continue until the return of Christ.
Those who love God’s Word will draw themselves closer to God. Then, on the other hand, the people in the world will be drawn away from such a godly person. “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times,” as in Psalm twelve, verse six. However, the Scripture purifies the people’s hearts who continue to serve Him. Every believer’s life is different from another’s. Some may experience physical challenges. Others undergo financial battles, while the rest face social challenges. Therefore, the devil will attempt severely to come against those believers who sincerely serve and love the Lord with all their hearts, souls, and minds.
Apart from the life of the righteous believer and the desirable commitment to follow God and His ways, there are those they are concerned about whom they love and have compassion towards. Their loved ones, friends, family members, neighbors, and social associates may reject or show disinterest in God and His laws. This situation could weigh a believer down to tears because those people are spiritually inactive but carnally active. These people’s desires and fulfillment are of the world and not God. The devil is aware of that and attempts to keep them further away from that believer and that godly environment.
Tears are a language that God understands because He sees the heart and the brokenness of believers over others, especially those who do not know Christ. However, praying continually for them can indeed change things.
