What is Palm Sunday?

Outer

Palm Sunday commemorates when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey, right before his death (Matthew 21:1-11).

Palm Sunday was the first day of Holy Week leading up to the Jewish holiday of Passover.

Palm Sunday, often referred to as Passion Sunday, marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.

During this time many denominations acknowledge and attend services of memorial and reflect on the significance of this day in their traditional way.

Inner

Palm Sunday is the first day of the Holy Week .

However, the branches (which are known as palms) are a symbol of victory (Revelation 7:9).

They used these branches and wave them as Jesus rode upon the donkey (Matthew 21:1-11).

However, during this time, some believers and people of faith honor this day in memory in mournful fashion, which is fine. However, if the branches symbolize victory, we should celebrate with pure joy and happiness because God allowed His Son to save us from sin. We just need to repent  and accept.
