In Psalms, chapter one hundred and fifteen, verse one, believers must never seek glory for themselves but always desire to manifest God’s glory and honor His name before the world. Saints of God must be determined to live that we will not bring shame or reproach upon the name of Christ and his church, as in Matthew five, verses fourteen through sixteen, and First Corinthians six, verse twenty.
The theme verse under the To God Alone Belongs Glory section suggests the people of God do not seek to exalt themselves but to glorify Him in whatever achievements He may allow believers to experience. In Luke fourteen, verse eleven, says, “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.” The scripture also says, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, as in First Peter five, verse six. Another stanza declares, “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” Therefore, in His time and by Him, God will manifest on behalf of those who will give all the glorification and praise due unto His name.
The One believers give glory to resides in heaven and do what He pleases, for He is the living God. However, some people do not believe it. The unbelievers cannot notice because they trust in others, as in verses five through eight of the theme chapter. “Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they but they see not. They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.”
