In Ecclesiastes, chapter nine, verse fifteen, “Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.” In this parable, a little town besieged by a great army seemed in a hopeless situation, as in verse fourteen. But a poor, wise man devised a plan and saved the city. Apparently, someone else took the credit for rescuing the city; however, the wise man probably did so because he was poor and forgotten. Believers should recognize that while they are on earth, justice and fairness will be imperfect at best, but in life after death, God will right all wrongs and reward all righteous deeds.
God will always find a good Samaritan to help those in need and point them in the right direction. However, will that person remember that it was from the Lord? That is the question. There are many unbelievers and ungodly people who live their own way and do their own thing until something unexpectedly happens, and then they suddenly cry out to God for help. The reason is that most people know someone above them, but fail to acknowledge Him.
Some will call God “the man upstairs” or “the One above,” which are some of the gestures the ungodly would use. However, on the other hand, many do use or say His name or His Son, Jesus Christ, during negative conversations and claim that it is a figure of speech. Saying the holy names as profanity or degrading the name that is above every name. However, Exodus twenty, verse seven, “Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.” All should remember God.
