Me and my house will serve the Lord

In Joshua, chapter twenty-four, verse fifteen, Joshua speaks to the children of Israel regarding who they will decide to serve. Inherent in the salvation provided by God is the issue of personal choice. Each believer must continually choose whom they will honor. Joshua and the Israelites serving the Lord is not merely a one-time choice. We must choose time after time to believe, trust, persevere in faith, and obey God and His Word.
The renewal of right decisions by the believer involves the fear of the Lord, loyalty to the truth, obedience from a sincere heart, and the renunciation of sin with its associated pleasures. Failure to choose to serve and love the Lord will eventually result in judgment and destruction. There is no room for compromise or being in the middle: One foot in the world and the other in the house of God. The lifestyle of living lukewarm will only be a disaster. God will vomit out the lukewarm due to contamination, and the enemy will continually abuse those who go back and forth.
Today, similar to the children of Israel, believers are daily deciding who they will serve: either God or the devil. How? By the way, we live. Each day we get up and begin our day and end it determines who we are serving. Whatever agenda or schedule we have to follow and accomplish, there will be challenges or encounters which will attempt to try our faith: either we stand for God or not.
The believer’s relationship with God the Father, the Son of God Jesus Christ in their hearts, and the Holy Spirit enables the believers to live on the straight and narrow by following the Word of God. All followers of Christ will face situations in life that will require us to make a stand for who we serve.
