It is a good thing to give thanks

In Psalms, chapter ninety-two, verse one, praise and thanksgiving to God are the elements in the believer’s life, as in Philippians four, verse six, Colossians four, verse two, and First Timothy two, verse one, accordingly. Believers must thank the Lord morning and evening for salvation through His Son, Jesus, as in Colossians one, verse twelve, for His lovingkindness and grace, and His faithful guidance and care, as in verse two. Believers should express gratitude for the Word of God, as in First Thessalonians two, verse thirteen, and for His spiritual gifts, as in First Corinthians fourteen, verse eighteen. The New Testament believers must give thanks in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, as in Colossians three, verse seventeen.

There is a song in verse one of this theme.

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,

It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD,

to sing praises unto thy name, O most High.

Why is it a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord? “Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name,” from Second Samuel twenty-two, verse fifty. In First Chronicles sixteen, verse eight, “Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people.” In verse thirty-four,” O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.”

There is another song with thanks that begins:

Give thanks with a grateful heart,

Give thanks to the Holy One,

Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son.

And now, let the weak say I am strong,

let the poor say I am rich,

because of what the Lord has done for us, give thanks.

Believers should give thanks every moment.
