I was almost in all evil

In Proverbs, chapter five, verse fourteen, God’s Word teaches that those who give in to sexual immorality will experience regret and remorse, both in the breakdown of family life and personal suffering. Premarital sex and marital infidelity have deadly consequences, as in verses five and eleven in this theme chapter. What may begin as a “sweet experience,” as in Proverbs five, verse three, will end in bitter regret, as in verses four and eleven. Remember at all times that “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, as in the beginning of Proverbs five, verse twenty-one, who requires accountability for how we live and the decisions we make.

The theme verse, “I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly,” can be any environment that leads to physical and spiritual ruin. The devil will use anyone who is ungodly and living in sin to prey upon the innocent and the godly. Satan is a strategist, cunning, and constantly attempting various ways to bring believers down to his level and fall into sin to keep them away from God. The eyes and ears are the windows to the soul that all people, especially the younger ones, must protect.

In Colossians two, verse twenty-one, it says, “Touch not; taste not; handle not.” The verse may apply when a man touches a woman or vice versa. That action may lead to inappropriate thoughts that can affect the heart and hinder the soul of believers from focusing on God. “Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman,” says First Corinthians seven, verse one. However, the verse does not say not to touch a woman, but not good because it may lead to something.
