I laid me down and slept

In Psalms, chapter three, verse five, believers who earnestly call upon God and constantly trust in His faithfulness, with the confidence that He hears, as in verse four, may lie down in peace and sleep securely, as in chapter four, verse eight. God will sustain and minister His grace even while they sleep, as we see in Psalms one hundred and twenty-seven, verse four, and Proverbs three, verse twenty-four.
All humans are to sleep at some point with at least eight hours of rest, which is the requirement. How and when we do this is entirely up to each individual who is mature and responsible enough to determine. However, what can hinder that privilege from happening is our decisions, the social environment we keep, the things we deem the most important, and who we serve: either self, gods, images, things, or the Almighty God. Why? The reason is the result has the potential to create problems that we are not able to foresee.
In Ecclesiastes five, verse three states, “For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.” All the possibilities of the things mentioned earlier and how we conduct ourselves from when we wake up until we lie down again can affect our sleep. The other main factor for a peaceful rest is who we serve. There are mainly three: The Almighty God, another deity, or self. A song with part of it goes like this, “You can only be blest, And have peace and sweet rest, As you yield Him your body and soul.”
Serving God and how we live in our relationship with Him can provide a wonderful peaceful sleep and heavenly dreams. However, others, experience restlessness, and no peace, and cannot sleep properly at night or whenever their sleep time is supposed to occur. The answer lies in what they do with themselves before will determine the outcome.
