In Psalms, chapter six, verse six, the psalmist’s distress and anguish of soul have continued for some time. In verse three, “But thou, O Lord, how long?” To wait, along with verses six to seven, confirms that God has not immediately restored him to spiritual peace and His divine presence and grace. However, verses eight through nine teach that God will hear our cries for mercy and receive our prayers. We need not despair but must wait on God in faith, as in Psalms thirteen, verse one, and chapter seventy-four, verse nine, respectively. In due time, He will answer our prayer.
When people experience some form of trouble, it can be a difficult time in their lives. The pain and agony from the beginning can cause us to be upset and worrisome during the process. However, the result of the situation will come to pass whether we are ready for it or not. At the beginning of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden from the book of Genesis through to Malachi with the priests in the Old Testament, trouble seems to find its way into the godly and the ungodly. Still, the difference is how we react and who we look to for help is the question.
The theme verse is from Prayer for Mercy during trouble section. In Job five, verse seven, regarding troubles, “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” Every human being will encounter some trouble. No matter what stage we are in, as we continue to age, we will continue to experience whether we are at fault or not involved.
For an unbeliever or believer, “Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?” The godly will call upon God, “God help me!” Meanwhile, the ungodly will call out His name in vain, “Oh my God!” The unfortunate popular form of expression that the enemy created this within sinners in a troublesome situation. However, the best response to begin healing and deliverance from a troubling circumstance is to believe and walk in faith to be victorious from Psalms forty-six. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” The answer: read the chapter.
