Holy holy holy

In Isaiah, chapter six, verse three, “And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.” The foremost characteristic of God revealed in Isaiah is His holiness, signifying His purity of character, separation from sin, and opposition to all that is evil. God’s absolute holiness must be proclaimed in the churches as it is in the heavens. Holiness is an attribute of God. His holiness will never change.
There is a hymn for this theme title and verse. The song summarizes the importance of the Holiness of God:

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning, our song shall rise to thee.
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore thee,
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea.
Cherubim and seraphim, falling down before thee,
Who was and is and evermore shall be.

Holy, Holy, Holy! Though the darkness hide thee,
Though the eye of sinful man thy glory may not see,
Only thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea;
Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty!
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity.

Another song begins with:

Holy is the Lord
And Mighty is His name
King of heaven
And down to Earth He came

Angels sing His praise
And we must do the same
Holy is the Lord
And Mighty is His name

The Holiness of the Almighty God separates Him from other gods. For He is the light of the world, and no one can look in His face. Light and darkness don’t mix.
