In Psalms, chapter four, verses one through eight, reveal the kinds of people God will hear in times of distress. They must have a personal relationship of trust in God, as in verses five through eight, an earnest desire for God’s help, from verses one, three, and six, and a godly lifestyle, as in verses three to five, accordingly.
Today, people like to be heard by anyone who can listen to what they have inside to say. However, that is not always going to be the case. Our actions tend to speak louder than our words, which explains why many people will not have the tolerance to listen because we live in a society that judges what they see before them and fails to listen to what they need to hear. Unfortunately, the eyes are much quicker than the mouth and the ears. Therefore, that further explains why relationships go sour among couples, marriages, family, relatives, and friendships because of situations like these.
Still, imagine if God was like that: Behaving the way we do with others around us. No one would stand a chance of having a relationship with Him. However, that is not the case with God because He is loving and willing to allow us to correct our ways. On the other hand, God sees, hears, and knows how we live inside out, while humans like ourselves do not know the inside but only see and judge the outside. What is the point of all this?
For God to hear us, we will need to listen to Him. Sometimes, He speaks through His Word by another person who will advise and direct, but we tend to shun or block it. Then, we expect Him to hear us and answer our prayers regardless. God sees the heart of others. Do we notice what we are doing to the hearts of others when we do not take the time to listen to them? Hear them so God can hear you today.
