He that winneth souls is wise

In Proverbs, chapter eleven, verse thirty, influencing people for righteousness is wise. The New Testament emphasizes that believers should lead people to Christ, salvation, and lives of righteousness. In John fourteen, verse six, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.” To win souls for Christ is to lead by example and walk in love. To serve God is not a show or an act but a lifestyle.

Paul in First Corinthians gives an example of how far he would go to reach a soul in verses twenty through twenty-two, “And unto the Jews, I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law;

To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.”

The verses give examples of how far a servant of God would go to save one. We see examples of how many heroes go a long way to save a life from danger. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, went all the way to Calvary to save sinners from sin and bring them to Him to be free from it. One soul is worth the whole world, and yet many treat God’s people and all creation as nothing. It is all about souls for the kingdom of God because everything else will be left behind when our time on earth ends!
