He that hath knowledge spare his words

In Proverbs, chapter seventeen, verse twenty-seven, “He that hath knowledge spareth his words: and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit.” The wise will restrain their speech and be cautious in what they say. They will not exaggerate the truth or harm others when speaking; Rather, they will be careful to talk accurately and edify others.

Today, people encounter trouble when they speak without considering the feedback from the person with whom they have a conflict. “He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction,” from Proverbs thirteen, verse three. They do not realize how much it could affect their future relationship with those people. However, some receive wisdom from God, which is a gift, and use it to help others and help themselves to obtain favor.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,” is the beginning of Hosea four, verse six. Arguments and conflict occur when people rant and rave about something that bothers them severely, without thinking about the reaction of the person on the receiving end. They are glad they were able to get out what they kept inside, boiling over. However, they forget that the receiver of such verbal activity will respond, unaware of the outcome. That explains why people have enemies, because most of them stem from a conversation that became an altercation, all because they did not hold back on the words they use to stir conflict.

On the other hand, the wise, godly, and righteous ones will be careful and selective, knowing what God says in His Word. “Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath, as in James one, verse nineteen. The wrong word to someone can create the wrong impression.
