In Psalms, chapter thirty-seven, verse six, the righteous oppressed by sin in the world are promised answers to their prayers, as in verses four to five, a vindication of their righteous standards, as in verse six, a heavenly inheritance, as in verses nine, eleven, and thirty-four. The Lord’s sustaining help, as in verses seventeen through nineteen, and verse thirty-nine, the Lord’s guidance, protection, and presence, from verses twenty-three through twenty-five and twenty-eight, and salvation, as in verse thirty-nine.
The theme under Blessing to the Righteous describes the righteous gaining recognition from God because of three steps: the believer delighting, committing, and trusting the Lord. Righteousness is right doing. Believers are obedient to the Word of God, which means doing what it says to get results. Where many religious people fail is by how they think because the battle is in the mind. When we receive a word through a message we hear, whether in church, online, in the Bible, or God may use someone to bring a godly word to us, what do we do with it? God shall bring forth the substance when we obey what He says to do from the Word of God. To ensure it is from Him, we must confirm through prayer, and He will direct our path. The first example of righteousness is from Genesis fifteen, verse six, “And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.” The situation for Abraham, who was Abram then, begins in the verses before in Genesis fifteen, verses one through five.
Despite Abram going the way of Sarai in Genesis sixteen, under the Hagar and Ishmael section, it was Abram who had the vision from God in Genesis fifteen, verse one, and not his wife. Genesis seventeen, verse one, God appears to him again and gives instruction. The action of Abram, who was now Abraham, in Genesis seventeen, verse five, is the activity and obedience that led him to receive the results despite experiencing adversity.
