In Psalms, chapter sixty-five, verse four, our greatest joy is to be near God and to enjoy communion with Him. The opportunity is now possible for all believers through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, as in Hebrews ten, verses ten through twenty-two, and through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, as in Ephesians five, verses eighteen. The Bible exhorts us to draw near to God continually, that we might receive His mercy and strength to help us in times of need, as in Hebrews four, verse sixteen, and Hebrews seven, verse twenty-five. Our greatest shame would be to treat this privilege lightly of nearness to God, considering it unworthy of our constant endeavor, as in Hebrews ten, verses thirty-six through thirty-nine.
The theme verse under God’s provisions for the Earth section calls believers to devote time to connecting with God. Not only our Heavenly Father but saints should talk to the Holy Spirit because He is a person. Through the Son of God, believers have access to the Father and should commune with Him about everything, not only when something is needed. However, there is a tendency for some people who go to church and learn about God to call upon Him only with a list of needs when they are looking for help. The approach for the people of God is to seek Him first, to acknowledge Him the minute we awake to start our day.
The believer who chooses to involve God in their day, whether at work, home, or social matters, will reap the joy and blessings that come with that. Matthew six, verse thirty-three, says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Therefore anything needed, He already knows and will give before you even speak it. God knows what we need but some of us do not know how much we need to involve Him in our daily activities for it to happen. The other thing is where is our heart? Is it on God?
