Bless the Lord O my soul

In Psalms, chapter one hundred and three, verses one to two, “to bless” carries the meaning of “to praise.” This psalm expresses thanksgiving and praise to the Lord for the benefits and blessings bestowed on the believing covenant people. We must never forget God’s goodness to us, as in Deuteronomy eight, verses twelve through fourteen, and Second Chronicles thirty-two, verses twenty-five, or fail to be thankful for His blessings showered on us through the Holy Spirit.

Believers should be thankful to the Holy Spirit, also known as the comforter, who is the Spirit of God and is the third person in the Trinity. “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you,” as in John fourteen, verse twenty-six. In Matthew twenty-eight, verse nineteen is evident in this verse, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” In Second Corinthians thirteen, verse fourteen, “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”

The three verses of the Holy Spirit’s involvement remind saints of God to be thankful to Him. Genesis one, verses one through two, gives the activity of the Holy Spirit. “In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.” Therefore, believers should include the Holy Spirit, especially when doing something spiritually that is impossible to do in the flesh. God bless you.
