In Job, chapter one, verse ten, because Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy, as in John ten, verse ten, God places a hedge of protection around His people to shield them from Satan’s attacks. The ‘hedge” is like a spiritual “wall of fire” surrounding God’s faithful so that Satan cannot harm them. “For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her (Jerusalem) a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her (Jerusalem),” as in Zechariah two, verse five. All believers who are faithfully endeavoring to love God and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit have a right to ask and expect God to place this wall of protection around them and their families.
In Revelation twelve, verse ten, states, “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.” Satan accuses of making an invisible fence around Job so no evil could creep towards Him. The accusation did not say anything of wrongdoing to the servant of God, but the evil one was attempting to create one. The motive of the devil to God is to let me prove to you that your servant will no longer live the way he is now if you take away the hedge from him.
Satan is a strategist who will use any means to stop the relationship between God and humans. Especially the connection between the believers who accept Jesus Christ, His son, and are living in a righteous manner that worships Him in Spirit and truth. These are the people whom the devil has his attention on to bring down.
