A faithful man shall abound with blessings

In Proverbs, chapter twenty-eight, verse twenty, “A faithful man shall abound with blessings” is the beginning of the theme. God’s blessing upon the lives of His followers is essential. Concerning God’s blessing, there are several benefits. First, it is a divine gift that will make our work successful. The presence of God with us, and Him giving us strength, power, and help, while God works through us to produce good.
The faithful will continue to abound as they live by faith, as in Second Corinthians five, verse seven. The first thing God did in relation to humanity is in the Old Testament in Genesis one, verse twenty-eight. God also sustains His work by blessing. The life and history of God’s people are under the operation of blessing and cursing. In the New Testament, the whole work of Christ can be summed up by the statement in Acts three, verse twenty-six.
God has given His blessing to children in Mark ten, verses thirteen through sixteen, and to His followers during the departure from earth, as in Luke twenty-four, verses fifty to fifty-one. Blessing likewise plays an integral part in the ministry of the apostles. The blessing of God is conditional. God’s people must make a choice: either blessing through obedience or cursing through disobedience.
How do we receive the Lord’s blessing? Three things are required: We must always look to Jesus for His blessing on our ministry, work, and family. We must believe Him, love, and obey Him. We must remove everything from our lives that would hinder the blessing. God’s blessing may not be matched with personal material gain or the absence of suffering in our lives. A faithful one of God should remain strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, in Ephesians six, verse ten.
