Is anything too hard for the Lord? The exact question God responds with after Sarah laughs at hearing about having a future child. She must have thought it was amusing to be aware of information while eavesdropping on a conversation. The sarcastic reaction from Sarah is natural from her perspective. Given the fact of her lifelong barrenness, and she and Abraham, her husband, both were over ninety years old, is her immediate response of disbelief.
God presents this question to everyone. Is anything too hard for the Lord? His questions resonate with every person who struggles to trust God in difficult times. God gives precious promises to those who trust in Christ. Often, it feels unlikely that such things as God’s empowerment, His comfort, and even eternal life could ever happen for us.
God wants us to understand That He has the power to accomplish what He promised. Jesus emphasized this truth when He said in Matthew chapter nineteen verse twenty-six, “with God all things are possible.” This verse came to fruition because the rich man thought salvation was impossible. The Son of God encounters the young man who had wealth yet lacked something. He found it difficult to depart from his riches to have total dependence on God.
Today, some people find it hard to trust God in their personal lives. They experience something difficult: from their carnal perspective, they think no one can resolve it. This narrow-minded thinking is earthly. “If I am not able, then who else is capable?” Human beings may think it is beyond human capacity.
God made heaven and the earth. He made people in His image, the animals, the water, and the trees, the insects, the birds, and the bees. How could God not create a resolution to a problem? Did you ask Him today? Asking for help is one thing. However, believing He will work on our behalf is another.
