In Isaiah, chapter forty-two, verse seven, “To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house.” By His death and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Messiah would free all believers from the darkness of sin and guilt, as in Romans five, verse twelve, “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” In the fall of Adam, sin as an active principle or power gained entrance into the human race. By His death, He released believers from the power of Satan, as in First John three, verse eight, “He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
The results followed when sin and corruption entered Adam’s heart and life, and were transmitted into the life stream of the human race, corrupting all people thereafter. Therefore, all humans are now born into the world with an impulse toward sin and evil. God knows how Adam’s sin was transmitted to his descendants. However, not all people back then and today were present with Adam and participated in his sin, and inherited Adam’s guilt. Nor to blame that Adam was the federal head of his descendants, and that his sin was imputed to them.
All humans are guilty before God because of their own personal sin, “because all sinned.” The only doctrine that finds Biblical support is that men and women inherit a moral corruption and an impulse toward sin and evil. Death entered the world through sin, and now all people are subject to death, “for that all have sinned.” To open blind eyes is to remove the carnal scale that sinners and unbelievers cannot physically see or comprehend from the spiritual realm. To bring individuals out when they accept and believe in Jesus Christ to begin the process of seeing from a spiritual perspective, and those who are out, but entangled with the carnal system.
