In Isaiah, chapter six, verse thirteen, “But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.” God encouraged Isaiah by telling him that a remnant of people would believe and be preserved. A new Judah that could be called holy would come forth, through whom God would work out His plan of salvation for the world. Likewise, under the new covenant, God will judge an apostate church and raise a holy remnant that will remain faithful to Him and His Word.
A holy seed is the theme title, which declares that there is still a group of servants who live according to God’s word without compromise. To obey is better than sacrifice. A remnant is like a set of people out of a whole crowd that are dedicated to the Lord and obedient and doers of it. A holy seed is similar to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who refused to bow to the image Nebuchanezzar set up for worship. God save them in the fiery furnace as in Daniel three.
Other instances of a holy seed begin with Noah, when he built the Ark, and only a handful believed, and were saved from the flood, as in chapter six of Genesis. The other example is when Moses led the people out of Egypt. Numbers twenty-six, verse fifty-one says there were six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty, family men ready to enter the Promised Land, suggesting a total population of at least two and a half million, including women and children. However, out of all that amount, only Joshua and Caleb entered?
