He that observeth the wind shall not sow

In Ecclesiastes, chapter eleven, verse four, “He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.” People today live in a world where we are always waiting for the most favorable conditions to accomplish nothing. However, the conditions will never be ideal in this present age. Believers must persevere in praying and reading their Bibles daily. Saints of God must live by God’s righteous standards, even if everyone around us pursues sinful pleasures.

The theme verse under the “The investment of a life” section depicts a person waiting for the right time to do something. Many have ambitions to do great things for themselves, their families, and others within their community. However, some of them contemplate but later hesitate or procrastinate. Meanwhile, some start, but as soon as adversity comes, they pack it in. On the other hand, some people start and great things begin to happen, but then they encounter something negative, and they decide to quit altogether.

This example reminds believers of Matthew thirteen, verses four through eight of the parable of the sower. “And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.”

Believers must only observe what the Word of God says. “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again,” as in Proverbs twenty-four, verse sixteen.
