The cry of the poor

In Proverbs, chapter twenty-one, verse thirteen, “Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.” If we want God to hear our prayers when we are in need, then we must also listen and respond in love to the needs of others, as Matthew twenty-five, verses thirty-one through forty-six gives an example. “When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory,” as in verse thirty-one. “And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left,” as in verse thirty-three.
The sheep are the ones who responded to the poor who were in need and did one, some, or all in verses thirty-five to thirty-six, “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.” On the other hand, the goats are those who did not care, as stated in the previous verses of thirty-five through thirty-six.
In Luke sixteen, verses nineteen through thirty-one, give the example of the rich man and Lazarus. “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,” as in verses nineteen to twenty. The rich man would notice by now, but did nothing. “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment,” as in James two, verse thirteen.
