Riches and honor

In Proverbs, chapter three, verse sixteen., earthly riches and honor do not always come to us even though we live according to God’s wisdom. But we can be sure that we will receive everlasting riches and honor from God as our future inheritance.
Riches and honor are a combo most believers do not understand until now. Eight of eleven verses include riches and honor, and eight are in the same format as the theme. The first to appear in First Kings three, verse thirteen, “And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches and honor: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.” Solomon’s prayer from his heart was for wisdom, and God gave him also riches and honor. Solomon’s father, David, acknowledges where it comes from in his prayer, in First Chronicles twenty-nine, verse twelve, “Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all, and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand, it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.”
In the first part of verse twenty-eight of the previous chapter about David, “And he died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor.” In Second Chronicles one, verses eleven to twelve go more in-depth about Solomon and how he receives his riches and honor. Jehosophat had riches and honor in Second Chronicles seventeen, verse five, and eighteen, verse one, but his emphasis was the fear of the Lord. Hezekiah also experiences the same in Second Chronicles thirty-two, verse twenty-seven. However, both Jehosophat and Hezekiah did have some challenges with their blessings.
“Riches and honor are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness, from Proverbs eight, verse eighteen. Not sought or humanly generated.
