Like the previous Psalm, Psalms, chapter one hundred and forty-three, verses one through twelve describe a believer facing overwhelming adversity and testing who feels they have reached the end of their endurance, as in verses three to four and seven of this theme chapter. And Psalms one hundred and four, verse twenty-nine. All they have left is prayerful hope that God will revive them again and deliver them out of this great trial.
Hear my prayer, O Lord is the desire of everyone who calls upon God when they face an unbearable situation. It is the theme title in which everyone hopes to receive attention from the Almighty One from above. However, God knows each person’s heart, and from His perspective, He knows how to respond to those who sincerely call upon Him with a repented heart. The believers who get the response from the Lord are the ones who have a consistent prayer life. The godly people who do have a set time to pray are the ones who hear from God far sooner than the ones who occasionally seek God.
In Acts three, verse one, “Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.” These two servants of God have a set time to pray. This chapter, from verses one through ten, is about the healing of the lame man. The man daily sat at a gate to beg for money. However, Peter and John told the man to look at them. “Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.” Peter took Him by the hand and he was completely healed. God answered the prayerful man Peter.
