In Psalms hundred fifteen, verse nine, those who trust in the Lord rather than in things that can be seen, as in verses four through eight, receive their Lord as their help and shield, as in verses nine to eleven. He remembers those who fear Him and promises to bless them in verses twelve through fifteen. God rules in the heavens, but He has delegated the rule of the earth to “children of men,” as in verse sixteen.
The theme verse under To God Alone Belongs Glory expresses believers who depend upon the Almighty God. The scripture encourages the saints to trust and hold on to the Lord no matter how their situation in their separate lives looks because God is able. The enemy will attempt to bring to our mind others around us who may have lives different from ours, and we may hear conversations that seem appealing to us. However, Hebrews thirteen, verse five, says, “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”
The most significant scriptures to remember and recite when our life situation comes to weigh us down involving trusting the Lord are that He is our source, not things. Psalms hundred eighteen says, “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.” Psalms thirty-seven, verse five, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass.” Psalms ninety-one, verse two, “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust.” These are samples of verses all believers should memorize and recite when anxiety or worry comes upon us suddenly to discourage us from God.
