God is mine helper

In Psalms, chapter fifty-four, verse four, this psalm is an appropriate prayer for the believer facing dangers or imminent disaster. The psalmist calls for help, expecting God to respond with His saving, delivering, and healing power. Today, the Lord sends the Holy Spirit to be our helper on earth and the sustainer of our souls. In John fourteen, verse six, “And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.” Jesus will ask the Father to give the counselor only to those serious about their love for Him and devotion to His Word.

However, Jesus uses the above verse, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Jesus uses the pretense in verse fifteen, emphasizing a continuing attitude of love and obedience. There is a difference between believers who love and worship God in spirit and truth and those who say they love Him but do things to get things. People today do not realize that God sees right through our hearts and knows who loves Him and who does not. Yet, still, pretenders try to act as though they love Him but only fool themselves.

Jesus will ask to send the Comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, to be by the disciples’ side to help and strengthen them, as in Matthew thirty, verse thirty-one, to teach the course for their lives, as in verse twenty-six, to comfort in difficult situations, as in verse eighteen, to intercede in prayer for them, as in Romans eight, verses twenty-six through twenty-seven, and verse thirty-four, to be a friend to further their best interest, as in verse seventeen, and to remain with them forever.

God is Mine Helper is the theme title under the A Prayer for Deliverance section. The early three verses depict the soul asking to save and be attentive to the words expressed due to the sinful actions of strangers and oppressors who do not serve God but other ungodly sources. We, as believers, should rely on God as our helper, specifically if we have to associate with ungodly environments for long periods, such as at work, business, or home with other relatives or family.
