As long as he sought the Lord

In Second Chronicles, chapter twenty-six, verse five, as long as Uzziah continued to seek the Lord and follow His righteous ways, he was given grace, strength, and help to rule as king of Judah. Uzziah may have some connection with Zechariah because his father, Amaziah, as king of Judah, began in righteousness in making proper choices as leader of Judah at twenty-six years old as in chapter twenty-five verses one through two, only not able to sustain as he continues to reign. Uzziah was anointed King of Judah at sixteen years old and did similar to his father as in verses three through four of the theme chapter, making good choices as king until the public praise came through word and gifts in return from the Ammonites as in the following verse eight. However, Uzziah did not seek the Lord in decisions to build towers in Jerusalem and the desert, as in verses nine through ten. He strengthened his army, made weapons, and made engines to support the base that he set up, as in verses eleven to fifteen.
Uzziah overlooks seeking the Lord in making choices in the things he made for himself. Since the things he did for himself may have had him think of no concern spiritually overall for the people, he must have considered no harm, no problem. Still, Uzziah did not realize that not seeking God, even these plans, could affect his relationship with Him. The result of Uzziah’s intentions may seem physically good, but in reality, spiritually weak. Since God is a spirit that made humans with a spirit, the downfall here with the son of Amaziah physically receives entertainment from the social fame and presents of his achievements in victory in battle against his enemies, which God allowed him to prevail, which motivated him to plan and create the things he did. Still, the time spent in increasing the flesh while spiritually no period with God during the fulfillment of these plans decreased his spiritual time with God. The result that led to his ruin begins in verse sixteen and continues to spiral at the end of chapter twenty-six for Uzziah.
