In Second Chronicles, chapter eleven, verse four, God who divided Israel to keep Judah loyal to Him and to separate Judah from the growing spiritual corruption in the other tribes. Sometimes, God causes division to preserve and protect His revealed truth, His righteous standards and those godly people who want to remain faithful to Him.
Today, many people who desire to serve God in spirit and truth are experiencing relationship issues with family, relatives, neighbors, co-workers, and others they may encounter on a daily basis. Why? Those individuals may blame themselves for the people they love and grew up with that no longer “keep in touch.” The associates they use to be so close to before now seem distant and desiring not to stay in connection. The reason is that same individual is growing in the Lord and building their relationship with Him, and those people are not living the same way.
Believers who are serving God today may find themselves in this situation of resentment by relatives, people who live in their environment, and individuals who use to be in their social circle opting out for reasons they do not understand or not revealed. Children of God may think its them in that they may have done something wrong towards those individuals, but it is not the case. The problem is they are not living the same way as the believer yet but catering to the world, the immoral lifestyle, walking in darkness instead of in the marvelous light, which is God.
The enemy uses this concept as a tool in attempt to get the believer to come back to the ways of the world by mixing their godly nature with the ungodly. Second Corinthians six, verse seventeen, “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.” The spirit of the ungodly is involved with the enemy, while the godly is in connection with the spirit of God. The presence of light and darkness does not mix. Shining light in a dark room causes a disturbance. Turn on the light in a room when someone is sleeping in the dark will wake the person up.
